Going Green is a social enterprise by impact consultancy Eco Shepherd Ltd, specialists in the development of scalable, self-sustainable marketing-led solutions to address major societal issues. Eco Shepherd’s client base is mainly international NGOs, charitable trusts, and body corporates (e.g. schools); developing innovative self-funding programmes to help purpose-led organisations move away from the overly stretched "leaning culture" whereby reliance on donations determines their ongoing viability and scale of impact.
Eco Shepherd also works with commercial organisations and sector-wide agencies, to guide and speed up the transition to sustainable supply chains, without putting additional pressure on current operating budgets.
Eco Shepherd’s founding director, Carolyn Managh, is a senior marketer and impact strategist, with 30 years experience developing game-changing products, strategies and business models for organisations across UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, including eBay UK, Unilever, Kraft Foods, Nabisco, ninemsn Au, NZ Department of Corrections and Prostrate Cancer Research Foundation. Carolyn has won innovation awards in the UK, is a renowned sustainability champion on the international stage, and is author of PenguinKind, 501 small sustainable actions under $100.
Eco Shepherd started as a research and innovation unit commissioned by NGOs, businesses and government departments to develop prototypes for sustainable business models, funding models, and supply chains (building self-sufficiency for NGSs and reducing the leaning culture on year-to-year grants), to help embed sustainability into mainstream society and popular culture.
Eco Shepherd operates a remote working model, with a small team in New Zealand and India. Our main base is in Dunedin, New Zealand.
