We understand that sustainability needs to be a win-win, so Going Green was created as a Buying Service in collaboration with green-forward suppliers; enabling business members to purchase sustainable products at lower prices than are generally available.

Most businesses, even small ones, should recoup the membership fee ($12/month) back in savings. The net-net result being that your workplace supplies budget stays consistent AND your sustainability credentials are enhanced (important for new clients, new business pitches & tenders, regional & government funding). A big win for the Planet as well.

The mission of Going Green is to stamp out the commercial conundrum that pits climate change concern and willingness to be more sustainable against the “green premium” - the difference in cost between a product designed and produced to minimise impact on nature and an alternative that isn’t. Since most businesses are unable to absorb higher costs that would result in a hit on profits, the Going Green Just-in Time model cuts out traditional middlemen and sells by cartons or bundles (rather than individual units) to get prices down to comparable or better than less sustainable equivalents.

Going Green™ is not about eco perfection, accreditations, or counting emissions. We’re about making it economically viable for as many businesses as possible to integrate green into their end-to-end operations.

Systemic change is still required for global supply chains to turn green which has a flow-on effect for New Zealand businesses. However, when it comes to Office and Administrative purchases, there are great sustainable alternatives available for the majority of irequirements, right here and now.

By removing or nominalising the "green premium", Going Green enables more businesses particularly SMEs to reduce their environmental footprint.

Behind-the-scenes Administrative and Office supplies are what keeps a business running smoothly and efficiently. Collectively, they are the 3rd biggest operating cost centre after staff and buildings/occupancy. Administrative and Office supplies include everything from copier paper, notepads and pens, postage + packaging, first aid kits, cleaning products, office kitchen supplies, to high vis safety gear, technology consumables and marketing + selling materials.

Going Green is an initiative by Kiwi-owned Eco Shepherd, a purpose-led B2B consultancy dedicated to increasing the access and affordability of green-forward supply chains and products for New Zealand businesses.

Our mission is to empower SMEs, Education organisations, NGO, Governement agencies, and big businesses, to accelerate their transition to sustainability across all part of their operations (not just clean energy or carbon counting).
