Recycle4Green Certification since 2023. Cycle4green is a Finnish organisation that uses a specific process to recycle release liner that is no longer needed in adhesive material production. HERMA has been recycling surplus release liner for many years now. Through this participation, Herma have recycled around 200 tonnes of liner and significantly reduced their CO₂ emissions.

Noventiz Certified. Herma is part of the Noventiz GmbH take-back system for transport and sales packaging, ensuring correct take-back and recycling procedures and reducing CO₂ emissions.

Member of the world's largest sustainability initiative, the UN Global Compact (since 2022). Companies in the UNGC report annually on their progress in implementing the principles in the areas of human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and the fight against corruption.

Participate in the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi). On the basis of scientifically justified climate goals, companies undertake as part of the SBTi to adopt measures voluntarily that are actually necessary to limit the further increase in global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius by the year 2100 – compared to the pre-industrial level of 1850.

Closely aligned with the European Union Timber Regulation (EUTR) which actively supports measures aimed at combating illegal timber procurement. HERMA affirms its knowledge of the obligations laid down in this regulation and fulfils them with due care within the scope of its activities.

Promoting the REACH Regulation. To avoid harmful ingredients and substances, HERMA promotes alternative methods for determining the harmful effects of substances through the REACH regulation. REACH is the main EU law to protect human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals.
